How easy is it to register with Blue Skies?

Pretty simple. Just email your CV and we'll get back to you within 48 hours to let you know if we have the right type of assignments to match your experience. We'll only set up a meeting if we're confident we can help you. Usually, you'd need to be in a position to freelance immediately to be considered by our clients.

There's no fee, right?

Spot on. Candidates pay us zip. In effect, the time our consultants spend on your behalf is free to you. Instead, clients pay us for the privilege of having you on board.

How can I be sure you will handle my details in confidence?

You can rest assured that Blue Skies will never release your details to any client unless you say, "Yes, please!" Or, "Work for them? I'd give my right arm..." Our policy is to understand your specific criteria and only discuss those opportunities that fit your game plan. Saves you time and effort.

What level of experience do you look for?

The majority of our clients work with us on briefs requiring a minimum amount of relevant experience. Understandably our clients tend to demand that freelancers are able to "hit the ground running". This particular cliché means that freelance vacancies usually require category as well as discipline expertise.

Do Blue Skies handle part-time positions?

The majority of our clients will ask us to fill full-time positions, on a five day a week basis. Occasionally some clients seek people to consult for a few days per week over a period of time. Very much the exception though.

Aren't I entitled to holiday pay?

Under current employment legislation freelancers are now awarded holiday pay on a pro-rata basis of 28 days per year. Way to go! As a certain supermarket says, "every little helps".

Can I carry on looking for permanent work whilst freelancing?

Yes, of course, it's entirely your call. We all have bills to pay. If you want to freelance until you secure a permanent position, we'll instruct our permanent consultants to work on your behalf. As long as clients are aware of your wishes then this won't cause any issues.
