First impressions are key
Depending on the position you are applying for you might be required to attend two or more meetings with the possibility of sitting aptitude, psychometric, personality, numerical or written tests. Things to remember:
• Prove your passion: Make sure you demonstrate your passion for the marketing world by being up to date with the latest competitive news and communication trends, including researching their company website.
• Prepare questions: Have a list of questions prepared to take with you to show your interest in the company, what they have achieved and their business goals for the future.
• Relevant work: Think about a campaign you have worked on that will be relevant to the company and position you are applying for and be prepared to answer questions on it, not forgetting to take any work samples with you to show what you have achieved.
• The basics: Ensure you have fully read and understood the job description prior to the interview and ask your Blue Skies consultant if there is anything you are unsure of. Take a copy with you along with a pad of paper with your prepared questions already written down. Don’t forget to plan your route and make sure you know when and where the interview is taking place and who with!
