A designer at Nokia has said that the creative industry is evolving.
The chief designer of communications giant Nokia has said that the world of design is changing and that marketers should embrace this if they wish to remain competitive.
Speaking to Design Week, Alastair Curtis said that design is now more influential in the field of business growth than ever before and that campaigns should reflect this.
He pointed out that creative employees for any brand should aim to design an experience.
"The days of purely designing products are gone. Now, it's as much about designing the ecosystem and services around the product as it is about the product itself," Mr Curtis said, according to Design Week.
Nokia is currently in discussions to open a new design centre, possibly in the Far East, following the successful opening of its new creative base in London's Soho.
The communications provider sold its billionth mobile phone in 2005 and was recognised as the fifth most valued brand in the world in 2007.
