New appointment for Aegis

A communications agency has announced the appointment of a new executive.

Communications agency Aegis Media has appointed Jerry Buhlmann as its new global chief executive after it was announced that Mainardo de Nardis is leaving the position, according to Brand Republic.

Mr Buhlmann has 25 years experience in the fields of media and advertising and previously founded media agency BBJ, which was purchased by Aegis in 1999.

He will begin his new role on June 2nd.

Aegis chief executive Robert Lerwill said that he was pleased with the new appointment.

"As we continue to develop an industry-leading global media communications network, I am confident that Jerry will take Aegis Media to the next level," he said, according to Brand Republic.

Mr Buhlmann added that he aims to expand the digital and emerging markets to increase the agency's competitive offering.

Aegis is a marketing communications group which provides bespoke services in the channels of digital marketing and planning and buying, among other things.
