Drumming gorilla gets black pencil

Fallon has won a series of awards at a ceremony this week.

Fallon's drumming gorilla advertisement has won one of six black pencil awards at the D&AD Awards, it has been reported.

According to Brand Republic, Fallon turned in a strong performance on the night, also winning a yellow pencil for the same campaign and winning in the practical special effects sector their Belonging series for Orange and the Cake advertisement for Skoda.

Bartle Bogle Hegarty won five awards, including a gong for their Vodafone Time Theft campaign which won in the editing category.

Apple's iPhone won an award in the leisure category, as did its i-mac in the work and industry category.

Laurence Green, chairman of Fallon, told the magazine that the award means a lot for the agency.

"Creativity is fast migrating from a nice to have to a must have, so awards like this are increasingly precious. To win across so many of our clients is the ultimate accolade," he said.

D&AD is an educational charity that represents the global creative, design and advertising communities.
