New executive for Publicis

A media communications agency has announced a new executive appointment.
UK-based media communications agency Publicis has announced the appointment of a new group chairman and chief executive.
Brand Republic reports that Nigel Jones will take up the role after moving from his current position as president of DraftFCB London.
He will report to chief operating officer Richard Pinder and will be responsible for Publicis London, Publicis Modem, Publicis Dialog and Publicis Blueprint.
Mr Pinder said that he was pleased with the appointment and Mr Jones's potential.
"Nigel has proven himself in the most demanding environments our business can design," he said, according to the magazine.
Mr Jones began his career at BMP DDB, where he rose to head of account planning.
He has also worked for FCB, where he was appointed co-president when the agency completed a merger with Draft.
Publicis was established in 1972 and is the UK's fourth largest media communications network, covering clients such as Cadbury, Garnier and Renault.
