Hyundai has announced a new executive for its marketing department.

Automobile giant Hyundai has announced that it has appointed Andrew Cullis as its new director of marketing for the UK.

Mr Cullis will be responsible for implementing the brand's marketing strategy in this country.

He has also previously worked for Citroen - where he was head of product and brand strategy - and Vauxhall.

Mr Cullis said that he was delighted to have been appointed at the firm, which he said is a "brand on the rise".

"I am delighted to be joining Hyundai, the world's sixth largest car manufacturer, at a pivotal point of its development here in the UK and across the world," he said.

Korean-based Hyundai owns a global network of research and development facilities and employs some 4,000 researchers.

It also has four international centres to co-ordinate international activities and the world's biggest assembly plant.

Mad.co.uk reports that ITV has announced Hyundai as its new sponsor for its forthcoming drama series Six Degrees. The deal includes broadcast sponsorship on ITV1 and mobile interactive bumpers.
