Best of the UK's design companies revealed

A magazine has revealed the top 100 UK design agencies.

Design Week magazine has published a list of the top 100 design agencies in the UK, as well as highlighting some interesting trends within the sector.

Top of the chart was Imagination, which also took first place in 2007. Loewy Group won second place, with Red Bee Media in third.
Checkland Kindleysides and Radley Yeldar took fourth and fifth place respectively.

The magazine's Lynda Relph-Knight pointed out some up-and-coming areas within the design sector.

"The public sector [is] a slow burn as a client base, but one we hope to see hot up as the Design Council shifts its focus in that direction with a new lineup," she said.

She also added that digital design is increasing its presence, while services design also has the potential for growth as the industry evolves.

Last week, published by analysts Young Company Finance and venture management firm 2in10 found that design in Scotland is punching above its weight, with the sector bringing in almost as much money as the financial industry.
