Top marketing execs honoured with awards

The winners of the Marketing Society Awards for Excellence 2008 were announced in London on June 9th.
The Marketing Society held its annual Awards for Excellence last night at the London Hilton Hotel.
The awards recognise members of the marketing community that have excelled in their role over the last 12 months and have contributed greatly to the success of their businesses.
Winners on the night included Jill McDonald, senior vice-president and chief marketing officer for UK and Northern Europe for McDonald's Restaurants, who was voted Marketer of the Year 2008, and Lindsay Nuttall, head of marketing at the BBC, who was voted Young Marketer of the Year 2008.
The organisation's Grand Prix winner was Dulux Paints, owned by AkzoNobel, and the Best New Brand award went to Trident Gum, owned by the Cadbury Trebor Bassett group.
Founded in 1959, the Marketing Society is a network of senior marketers dedicated to furthering the cause of marketing in the UK and currently has in excess of 2,700 members.
