New own brand marketing head for O2

Mobile telecoms group O2 has appointed a new head of own brand marketing.
Erik Staaf has been appointed to the role of head of own brand marketing at O2.
The newly-created post will see Staaf take responsibility for own brand mobile phone launches for the company, as well as looking after business relating to the Apple iPhone, Marketing Week reports.
O2 first started looking for candidates for the role earlier this year and is also recruiting for the posts of head of retentions, strategy manager for marketing and head of broadband acquisitions.
Staaf was previously senior vice president of Jabra's mobile business division and undertook retail sales, marketing strategy and product management duties while in the role.
O2 serves about 18.4 million mobile customers and 130,000 broadband customers, employing 11,000 people across the UK.
It rolled out its home broadband offering nationwide last month and will launch the new 3G version of the Apple iPhone on July 11th.
