Those leaving university and entering the job market have access to a greater variety of job hunting resources online, according to one expert.
Graduates are finding it easier to get jobs now due to the abundance of resources available on the internet, it has been claimed.
They have access to a greater variety of different opportunities due to the growing number of jobs boards and online application systems, according to Jayne Rowley of Graduate Prospects.
Those leaving university are also finding it easier to research companies online to give them greater insight into the jobs they may be applying for.
Graduates are now able to make use of more sophisticated search technology and RSS to tailor their job searches to specific requirements or preferences.
Jayne Rowley, publishing director for Graduate Prospects, commented: "The proliferation of job boards and the availability of online application systems mean it's never been easier to see the full range of possibilities open to you."
In 2006-07, there was a one per cent rise in the number of students leaving university with first class degrees, 57 per cent of whom were women, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency.
