OMD's Matt Simpson has been appointed an IPA chairman for the next two years.
The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) has named Matt Simpson chairman of its Digital Media Group.
The two-year role will see him take charge of media trading, measurement and training initiatives, reports Media Week.
Mr Simpson, who is head of digital at OMD group, has promised to devote much of his time to expounding the benefits of a single online measurement system to companies.
He tells the website: "Brands need to understand online and how it sits alongside other media, while media owners need to make a choice about which measurement system they use."
Mr Simpson succeeds Wayne Arnold in the IPA post, who has moved to New York to head the US division of Profero.
In other IPA appointment news, Mike Leeson was recently named the organisation's regional chairman to raise the profile of both the institute and its work around the country.
