IPA conference to focus on digital arena

Date posted:
19th June 2008

The Finance Policy Group's annual conference will be held next month on the theme of Talent v Technology.

Changes in media ownership and the increasing use of digitisation will be the focal points of this year's Finance Policy Group's finance conference, the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) has said.

The conference – with the theme Talent v Technology – will be held at the British Library on July 10th.

It will address how more digitally-minded consumers and clients have adapted agency business models recently, with a specific focus on decoupling and recoupling.

Media ownership changes will also be discussed, in particular Google's role as the largest media owner by advertising revenue.

IPA finance director Alex Hunter said: "We hope this year's conference and debate will provide food for thought and key insights on the challenges facing agency management in light of increasing digitisation, decoupling and recoupling."

Philip Miles, agency leader at Google, and Steve Parish, chief executive of Tag, will provide keynote presentations.

Next month will also bring the TouchPoints 2 Initiative launch at an industry and press conference, providing new information on media consumption, according to the IPA.
