Entries for IPA awards announced

The nominations for this year's IPA awards have been announced.

The Institute for Practitioners in Advertising has announced a shortlist of nominations for its 2008 Effectiveness Awards, it has been revealed.

Some 50 entries have been attracted by companies wishing to exhibit the success of their recent marketing campaigns, Brand Republic reports.

The awards are held annually and are sponsored by Thinkbox and supported by the World Advertising Research Centre and this year's ceremony is open to advertisers and media owners for the first time.

Entries include Fallon London for its work on the Eurostar campaign, Ogilvy Advertising and MindShare Media UK for the Dove drive, as well as McCann Erickson Advertising for its work on Heinz Beanz Snap Pots.

Neil Dawson, convener of the judges for the 2008 IPA Effectiveness Awards, said: "This year's list is spectacularly diverse. Each case is united by a common cause - the ambition to show payback for investment in marketing communications."

This year's award ceremony will be held at the Hurlingham Club on November 3rd.

The IPA is a non-profit trade body and professional institute for agencies in the UK's media and marketing communications industry.
