Ogilvy appointment for Young

Ogilvy & Mather have appointed a new global chief executive.
Marketing agency Ogilvy & Mather has appointed Miles Young as the new global chief executive for Ogilvy Group, it has been announced.
Mr Young will replace Shelly Lazarus, who will move to become chair after 11 years with the company.
Both executives will take up their roles as of January 1st 2009.
Sir Martin Sorrell, chief executive of WPP, which owns Ogilvy & Mather, praised the job that Ms Lazarus has done and said he looks forward to seeing Mr Young take the helm.
"Miles brings to the role of chief executive a deep understanding, not only of European and Asian markets, but also of the role that new technologies - and integrated thinking - bring to our business," he commented.
Mr Young joined Ogilvy & Mather in 1983, before which he was employed at advertising agency Brady & Marsh.
Ogilvy & Mather is an international advertising, marketing and public relations agency founded in 1948.
