Companies beating crunch with marketing

New research has revealed that companies are becoming more inventive with their marketing.
A survey carried out by Selectabase, a firm that provides lists for marketing campaigns, has discovered that companies are being more inventive with their marketing in a bid to beat the credit crunch.
Rather than discontinue their marketing and advertising, the firm found that businesses are investigating other channels and reported a 47 per cent increase in enquiries from their website in recent months.
Steve Sellwood, managing director of Selectabase, said he had seen similar activity in previous downturns.
"I get the impression businesses are facing a tough time, but are trying hard not to panic and talk themselves into an even worse situation. Instead many are trying to take action early by targeting new business," he remarked.
Meanwhile, the recent Managing Digital Channels report from E-Consultancy found that mean investment in digital channels now amounts to around 23 per cent of marketing budgets for UK businesses.
