A marketing industry expert has claimed that small businesses should make more use of video marketing.

A spokesperson from marketing software provider Mixpo in the US has claimed that small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) should aim to make better use of video marketing as a way to drive growth in their companies.

In an interview with Search Engine Land, Anupam Gupta, president of the organisation, said that SMEs are in an ideal position to take advantage of the channel.

"Video drives more qualified leads and conversions, all in a way that is measurable and where we can show accountability. Measurability and accountability is what made search marketing successful and that's what SMEs and SME advertisers need to be all about to succeed," he commented.

Mr Gupta added that SMEs are already showing interest in the medium and that he predicts there will be more growth in the next three months.

Earlier this month, the Managing Digital Channels report from E-Consultancy found that the mean investment in digital media channels now accounts for 23 per cent of the total marketing communications budget in the companies surveyed.

Blue Skies Marketing Recruitment works on behalf of both permanent and freelance agency and in-house candidates across the creative, design and branding, digital, DM, events, experiential, integrated, PR and sales promotion sectors.
