Small companies' more adventurous marketing projects may benefit from outsourcing

Small firms are being advised to outsource their large online marketing projects to third parties, in order to avoid the projects using up excessive time.

David Wei, chief executive at Alibaba.com, has said that for small firms, small and medium marketing projects do not pose a management problem. But for firms with large or complex online marketing requirements, recruitment of a third party may be beneficial.

"The most important criteria in making the selection should be ease of use, return on investment and manageability," Mr Wei explained.

Marketing recruitment has taken something of a hit during the economic downturn, and for companies which have decided to stick their neck out to invest in a new project, it may be that outsourcing the job could save both time and money.

Search engine optimisation (SEO) - a process of finding or creating numerous ways to have a brand's name published across the internet to maximise traffic to their website - is a popular means of advertising, but it has been stressed that typical marketing recruitment may not be able to provide the answers to SEO solutions.
