Blogs seen to be effective way of maintaining interest, loyalty and authority in marketplace
Keeping a blog can be one of the most effective ways to keep a brand in the public domain, it has been reported.
As well as conventional advertising, a company can run a blog in order to ensure its name is regularly published in the public domain, and in order to provide legitimate comment on new developments within the company.
As a direct form of marketing, a blog can easily compliment the practice of sending press releases, to provide a more direct and human voice to consumers.
"Business owners could see it as an opportunity to share the latest news about their company or be seen as a leader in their industry, sharing their thoughts," explained the Daily Telegraph.
By publishing a diary of developments throughout the production of a new product, a company's blog can act as the authoritative voice for the company, to pre-empt press criticism of a development.
It is widely believed that blogging will become more commonplace in the near future, and the focus of recruitment may well shift in order to accommodate a new form of marketing skills.
