New roles created at Telegraph newsroom for ''multiskilled journalists''
The Daily Telegraph has announced that its new recruitment plans will include the creation of 18 ''content editor'' posts, as well as various other editorial positions.
The Telegraph has recently been in the media for introducing severe cuts to its editorial, marketing and financial recruitment plans, with many journalists criticising the Telegraph Media Group (TMG) for being too bloodthirsty in its attempt to revamp the business.
However, the recruitment decisions have come at a time in which the Telegraph has been busy updating its marketing focus, as TMG unveiled a newly designed telegraph.co.uk which was six months in the making.
This new marketing strategy from TMG has most recently led to the creation of the 18 content editor posts, which will be filled by "multiskilled journalists who are able to do everything from write to commission to edit to produce both online and print", a letter from TMG to its casual staff read.
Marketing recruitment is one area that TMG may need to invest heavily in in the near future to improve the group's image among those in the media, and to increase awareness of the new telegraph.co.uk.
Blue Skies Marketing Recruitment works on behalf of both permanent and freelance agency and in-house candidates across the creative, design and branding, digital, DM, events, experiential, integrated, PR and sales promotion sectors.
