A new marketing campaign has been launched by VisitBritain
The national tourism agency, VisitBritain, has announced the launch of a new digital marketing campaign aimed at giving visitors on-the-spot access to a wide range of useful information.
Coming as tourism chiefs look to capitalise on recent exchange rate shifts, which have made the UK a beacon for bargain-hunters from the Eurozone and the United States, the agency has rolled out its new mobiEXPLORE UK application, which is free to download from its official website.
Under the initiative, tourists will be able to view British street maps, local what's-on guides, lists of bars and restaurants and even the London Tube map on their mobile phones.
As well as offering both business and leisure travellers useful information on the go, the initiative will also allow companies to make use of digital marketing and promote themselves to the lucrative tourist sector.
This comes just days after a new drive aimed at promoting London to overseas travellers was launched by the city's mayor Boris Johnson, with the initial outlay of £600,000 to be spent on a range of media, including online and print advertising.
Blue Skies Marketing Recruitment works on behalf of both permanent and freelance agency and in-house candidates across the creative, design and branding, digital, DM, events, experiential, integrated, PR and sales promotion sectors.
