Everyone knows how daunting the first day in a new role is. In my opinion an open and friendly environment makes all the difference when you feel like a small fish in a big pond!

So just like that, my first two weeks at blueskies have come and gone. I have joined the energetic Client Services team in which we recruit for account handling positions in agencies across the Midlands, Oxfordshire and Home Counties. Two weeks of nonstop learning my new industry and many more important skills completed as well as taking in all the overall office info. My brain is certainly full of new info!  I have been focussing on gaining marketing knowledge, candidate preference and of course geographical knowledge which is funnily enough, not the easiest of tasks for a foreigner!

Week one ended with a bang, an office day out to the Warwick races, unfortunately I was only £5 up. However, better than nothing though! We all had an absolute blast and it was a good opportunity to get to know my new team members.

Week two has come and gone just as fast. My industry is starting to all come together and make sense and I’m continuously learning new things. It all comes as a shock learning a whole new industry as my previous recruitment experience was in a completely different industry as well as in another country! Although, having recruitment experience has been a blessing! I am all for change and venturing into an industry which I am passionate about. I’m ready to embark and accept the challenge of owning account handling!

As a workplace, blueskies has exceeded any expectations I had or could have had. I couldn’t be happier to arrive on a Monday morning to receive my coffee from the local coffee shops, or turn up on a Friday to have a selection of breakfast items, as well as all the other bonuses.

If recruitment is a passion of yours, and you want to join a brilliant team get in touch. I can assure you, you’ll be making the right decision and I am beyond lucky to have fallen into blueskies. Bring on week three and many weeks, months and years to come!
