How COVID-19 is affecting the job market.

I wanted to take the time to give you an honest update on the permanent marketing and creative job market and let you know about a couple of major changes we are seeing as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Firstly, many of our clients are adhering to the government advice and operating remotely. What does that mean for you? Well, although it is entirely possible to recruit remotely, for most of our clients it is uncharted territory. In addition to this, on-boarding remotely comes with a unique set of challenges. This has led to them pausing their current recruitment efforts.

Secondly, for those businesses that cannot be run effectively from home or where their end clients are being impacted, entire operations are being forced to pause. Some are taking advantage of the government jobs protection scheme and temporarily downsizing. What does that mean for you? Well, unfortunately that means no capacity for new employees so no new opportunities.

I know that this doesn’t sound very positive, but I wanted to be honest with you and take this opportunity to remind you that this is a temporary situation. What we are seeing in market is very much a 'pause’, everything will get moving again.

In the meantime, please make sure you are getting all the support you can from the government. Try to stay positive and take this time to support your loved ones and care for yourself.

Whilst we are in this situation, the blueskies team have made some temporary changes to our internal processes. We will be funnelling all enquires through info@blueskiescareers.co.uk. All new opportunities will be listed on our website you can apply directly to any that catch your eye. To update us in changes in your circumstances, you can update your online profile here. If you are not registered already you can do so here

We look forward to resuming very soon, please get in touch if there is anything we can do for you right now.
