It turns out, it’s not just me who is being influenced into random purchases by social media ads – its everyone!
Whether it’s expensive branded make-up or jumpers made from blankets… my commercial footprint is all web right now. Unsurprising really when you consider that we have been mostly housebound for a year now. The money we have saved not jetting off to Ibiza (I wish!) and not buying lunch in ‘Pret a Manger’ has been casually ploughed into online retail therapy. 
This week, Boohoo have rescued Debenhams back from the brink of extinction – hurrah! However, we will still have to wave farewell to slowly mooching through the high street shop and getting sprayed by the perfume reps.  
There is no point fighting it, just as retailers have adjusted their thinking and changed their strategies, so must we. Speaking to both candidates and clients this year, it’s clear that the demand for digital skills is not just on the rise it’s become a survival skill! 
As a professional in the marketplace, there is no better time than now to hit the virtual books and feed your mind with digital knowledge. There is no shortage of available courses; the Google digital skills (Skillshop) is a great place to start. I am frequently getting requests from clients for the AdWords and Analytics certifications.
