An exclusive role with blueskies – my client is a well-established full service digital marketing agency with a large number of clients within the SME market. 

The Role: This is a great opportunity for an experienced paid search specialist to join this agency as Head of Paid Marketing.  Working within one of the client teams, you will be the “go-to” person for all paid search best practice advice and have clear leadership skills in this area to coach and develop the paid search executives within the agency.  The Head of Paid Marketing will also be responsible for attending client pitches, industry networking events as well as maintaining hands on paid search responsibility for the largest revenue generating clients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Represent paid search function internally and externally
  • Accountable for ensuring all paid search activity is delivered to a high standard and identify ways to improve efficiency and revenue
  • Work with the leadership team and report on all paid search activity with clients and assist on pitches
  • Manage larger revenue accounts and plan all PPC campaigns across Google and Bing, paid social campaigns and display and remarketing
  • Manage significant monthly PPC budgets for larger revenue clients
  • Create and optimise campaigns including all keyword research and bidding, campaign build and management and tracking
  • Track all campaigns and report on successful channels.  Adapt and use test and learn techniques to ensure high ROI and manage CPA.
  • Regular reporting on ROI


The Candidate: You will have experience of running successful paid search campaigns with expertise across Google, Bing and Shopping channels (Shopping preferred but not essential) and a deep technical understanding of creating and running campaigns.  With clear leadership capability, you won’t directly line manage a team due to the structure within the agency, but you will be the Paid Search expert and provide leadership and development to the paid search specialists.  You must be comfortable client-facing and pitching.  Ideally from an agency background, although inhouse PPC candidates will also be considered.

Salary £35,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience
