We are working with an iconic charitable organisation based in Birmingham who are looking to recruit their first Membership Manager. This role will manage the development, ongoing delivery and evolution of the charity’s membership with the aim of retaining and growing the number of members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop membership through the implementation of the membership strategy, to retain and increase the overall level of membership revenue.
  • Lead on the day-to-day management of member relationships to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Manage and lead projects which are part of delivering the membership strategy working collaboratively with other departments and external agencies as required.
  • Ensure that the membership related areas on the company website are maintained and updated.
  • Develop strong professional relationships with members, suppliers and with internal colleagues.
  • Consult with members to understand their needs. Develop and implement a programme of member engagement activities to increase member participation and retention based from the feedback provided by members.
  • To monitor, assess and provide information on the market position and effectiveness of membership. Deliver effective communication and engagement strategies driven by market insight and analysis that improve member experience.
  • Work cross functionally with both internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for growth in key sectors.
  • Work closely with communications, marketing and policy teams to ensure the effective promotion of membership.


About you:

  • Able to manage and lead projects to deliver membership strategy
  • A good communicator both written and verbal
  • Able to develop strong professional relationships
  • Experience of managing a membership function
  • Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to generate engagement and profit through membership
  • An ability to use Microsoft Office professional packages and high level of IT literacy
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)

This role would perfectly suit an Marketing Officer, Marketing Co-ordinator, Membership Officer, Membership Executive, Membership Manager, Communications Executive, Communications Officer, Marcomms Executive, Marketing & Communications Officer.

This role is a hybrid role, working from the clients’ offices located in Birmingham twice a week and is commutable from Birmingham, Stourbridge, Rubery, Wolverhampton, West Bromwich, Tamworth, Sutton Coldfield, Coventry, Solihull, Leamington Spa, Warwick, Henley-in-Arden, Stratford upon Avon, Redditch, Bromsgrove.
