Sports and Leisure Management was established in 1987 and is the longest established leisure contractor in the UK. Sports and Leisure Management Limited’s consumer brand is Everyone Active, which is the name that can be seen at over 140 leisure and cultural facilities across the UK. They successfully manage these facilities in partnership with 41 different local authorities.
Following the expansion of their business and growing pressures on the marketing team, Everyone Active had a requirement for a Marketing Executive which they needed to fill quickly. They required a candidate with the right level of experience who could hit the ground running during a busy period and help with the daily co-ordination of marketing activities.
The brief from the client was to find them an experienced marketer who would be able to manage the relationships between the leisure centres and the third party marketing agencies which create their campaigns. A strong creative flair and knowledge on the importance of working to brand guidelines was essential, along with excellent organisation and communication skills and the ability to push-back when necessary. The successful candidate was not an obvious match, but because we understand the client and the culture so well, we were able to discuss why the candidate should be seen and why they had been matched which resulted in them being the outstanding favourite following the interview process.
